Bob was born in Oakland, Oklahoma the seventh of eight boys to William and Gertrude Rogers and was the last surviving brother of that family.
On leave from the Air Force in 1948 he found time to court, win and marry what he described as the prettiest girl in his hometown, Bobbie Duncan, of Cumberland, Oklahoma. Bobbie is the daughter of R.C. and Edna Duncan of Cumberland, now both deceased.
Bob left Madill High School and the sports he loved (he played football and basketball as a Madill Wildcat), his senior year, as soon as he was old enough, to join his older brothers in the war effort.
While in the Air Force, he attained the highest rank of an enlisted man, Chief Master Sergeant. Bob served his country in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Cold War. While working in supply, it was his task to make sure our troops had the supplies to do their jobs. During many years of the Cold War it was his job to keep B52 airplanes supplied with the parts to keep them flying with their nuclear payloads. He was very proud that he had distinguished himself and served his country honorably. Upon his retirement from a successful career in the United States Air Force he settled in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. He was a resident there for 45 years. In Parker County, Bob found the permanent home his years in the service and many moves had denied him. He dearly loved his neighbors and friends he found there, but never forgot his Oklahoma roots.
Bob worked at General Dynamics on the F111. He helped Overseas Motors in Fort Worth on the computerization of their parts system. He was a real estate broker with an office in Weatherford. He ended his work career at the Parker County Tax Office as an appraiser, where he retired a second time.
Bob and his wife, Bobbie, were members of First Baptist Church of Weatherford. He was faithful to God and God was faithful to Him. He was blessed with a long life, success, loving family and countless friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bobbie Duncan Rogers. Survivors also include their three children, Steve Rogers of Arlington, Rhonda Forman and husband, Jody, of Corinth, and Carrie Sneed and husband, Pat, of Weatherford. He had six grandchildren, Brad and Rodney Rogers, Matthew and Jeremy Forman, Angela Flores, and Melissa Sneed; and eight great-grandchildren, Riley, Allyson, Kaysee, Jaxon, Madison, Makenzie, Hallie and Hope. Those great grandchildren were the joy of his later years.
