Bio:

Mikeworth's father requested the headstone, at first the date of death was listed as January 11, 1943. However, four days later on January 15, 1943, he was alive and well and involved in an air crash at Blackland Air Field in Texas, in aircraft Serial No. 41-26303. He was later assigned as a C-46 pilot to the Army Air Forces Air Transport Command at Mohanbari, Assam, India. He was killed in a non-combat-related crash on take-off at that base, in aircraft Serial No. 41-12391, on January 10, 1944.
