Bio:

William E. George was born July 18, 1817 in Indiana. He arrived in Texas in 1832 along with his parents, William and Delilah Chandler George. William E. George married Margaret L. Davis in Harrison County on September 4, 1840. They appear to have lived in Harrison, Cherokee, Anderson, Houston, Limestone and Navarro Counties. In 1851 he was assigned as minister of the First Methodist Church of Crockett, Texas, then later transferred to the Trinity African Mission in Limestone County.

In July 1861, William E. George enlisted as a Private in the 19th Brigade of Navarro, Ellis, Freestone and Limestone Counties. He died in Navarro County on November 8, 1867 at age 50.
