Bio:

Billy July was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’8”. He was 20 when he first enlisted.

He completed 22 enlistments, serving from May 29, 1884 to January 10, 1913. He served under Lt. Hall, Lt. Dickman, Lt. Turner, Lt. Lowe, Lt. Evans, Lt. Rkyan (or Ryan), Lt. Lowe, Lt. Wheeler, Lt. Hays, Lt. Vestal, Lt. Fonda, Lt. Blasland, Cpt. Babcock, Lt. Barney, and Major Rich. He was stationed at Fort Clark, Cp Neville, Cp Palvo, Cp Neville, Cp Presidio, and Fort Ringold.

Billy July transferred to the 10th Cavalry following the disbandment of the Seminole Negro Indian Scouts on July 16, 1914.
