Bio:

Carolina July was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’4”. He first enlisted at 18.

He completed 11 enlistments, serving from January 1, 1874 to April 1, 1880. He served under Lt. Bullis, Lt. Dodd, Lt. Cranston, Lt. Markley, and Lt. Stevenson. He was stationed at Cp. Palafox, Ft. Duncan, Cp. Supply, Ft. Clark, Cp. Painter, and Cp. Howard.

He was the son of Sampson July. He died on April 13, 1884 of uremia, and was buried at the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery in Brackettville, Texas.
