Bio:

George Kibbetts was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born at Fort Duncan in Eagle Pass, Texas. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’5”. He was 22 when he first enlisted.

He completed 5 enlistments, serving from May 3, 1895 to June 25, 1914. He served under Lt. Fenton, Lt. Porter, Lt. Nolan, Cpt. Gurney, and Lt. Hughes. He was stationed at Fort Ringold and Fort Clark.

George Kibbetts served until the Scouts were terminated. The date of his death is unknown. He was buried at the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery in Brackettville, Texas. Last of the known Seminole Indian Scouts.
