Bio:

Pompey Perryman was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Arkansas (Indian Territory). He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’7”. He was 30 when he first enlisted.

He completed 19 enlistments, serving from February 8, 1878 to March 16, 1894. He served under Lt. Bullis, Lt. Jones, Lt. French, Lt. Hall, Lt. Dickman, Lt. Markley, Lt. Lowe, Lt. Evans, Lt. White, and Lt. Vestal.

He was stationed at Fort Clark, Cp. Pecks, Cp. Neville, Cp. Devil’s River, Cp. Palvo, Cp. Presidio, Cp. Eagle Pass, Cp. Ramirez, Ft. Ringold, Cp. San Pedro, and Cp. Myers.

Pompey Perrryman died in January 5, 1923 and was buried at the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery in Brackettville, Texas.
