Bio:

Archibald Shields was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in South Carolina. He had black eyes, black hair, and a yellow complexion. He stood 5’6”. He was 49 when he first enlisted.

He completed eight enlistments, serving from May 14, 1881 to November 4, 1888. He served under Lt.
Bullis, Lt. Jones, Lt. French, Lt. Cunningham, Lt. Hall, and Lt. Dickman. He was stationed at Fort Clark, Cp. Myers, and Cp. Neville.

Note: Archibald Shields was discharged on November 4, 1888 due to a disability. He was 56.
