Ladislado Paredes
(June 26, 1922 - January 2, 2009)
Ladislado Paredes, 86 of Jarrell, entered into rest Friday, January 2, 2009 at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2009 with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm in Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Deacon Joe Ruiz will officiate at the funeral service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Corn Hill Cemetery in Jarrell.
Ladislado was born June 26, 1922 in Hillsboro to Gumecindo and Juanita (Villareal) Paredes. He served his country in World War II as a private in the Army infantry. He saw action as a member of the Second Division in France, Belgium, and Germany. Returning home, he worked as a farmer and also a welder for Griggs Equipment Company, retiring after 20 plus years of faithful service. Ladislado married Antonia Guajardo in October of 1952 in Salado. His pastimes included music, dancing, and baseball.
Ladislado was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Antonia in 2004; son, Juan; brothers, Lucas and Gonzalo in 2008. He is survived by his daughter. Mary Christy and husband Donald of Jarrell; sons, Tomas and wife Minerva of Sherman, Joe and wife Kay of Round Rock; sisters, Alfonza, Felipa, and Christina Paredes; sister-in-law, Albina Paredes; former daughter-in-law, Alice Paredes; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
