Bio:
Joseph Dixon was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He was 5’6”. He was 29 when he enlisted.
He completed six enlistments, serving from January 6, 1885 to July 4, 1893. He was stationed at Fort Clark and San Antonio (unsure of the base) and served under Lt. Hall, Lt. Dickman, and Aag Martin.
Note: The Army Enlistment Journal apparently confused Joe Dixon and Joseph Dixon. Only their height seemed to indicate different people. The surname is not Seminole. Instead, it might be possibly be ex-soldier or descendant of marriage between an ex-soldier and Seminole female.
