Bio:
Sandy Fay was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’4”. He enlisted when he was 18 and retired at the age of 50. He was one of few Scouts who made his service a lifelong career.
He completed 34 enlistments, serving from September 10, 1872 to April 27, 1905. He was stationed at Ft. Duncan, Ft. Clark, Cp. Pecos, Cp. Neville, Cp. Palvo, Cp. Presidio, Ft. Ringold, Cp. Carrizo, Cp. San Pedro, and he served under Cpt. Beyer, Lt. Bullis, Lt. Parker, Lt. Jones, Lt. French, Lt. Hall, Lt. Hewett, Lt. Geary, Lt. Dickman, Lt. Lowe, Lt. Evans, Lt. Ryan, Lt. Lowe, Lt. Langhor, Lt. Hays, Lt. Vestal, Lt. Lazell, Lt. Fonda, and Lt. Basland.
