Bio:

William Long was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Washington DC. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’7”. He first enlisted when he was 23.

He completed 4 enlistments, serving from April 22, 1873 to April 13, 1876. He served under Lt. Carson, Lt. Parker, and Lt. Bullis. He was stationed at Ft. Clark and Cp Supply.

Note: It is believed that William Long was not a Black Seminole; instead, it is believed that he married into the Black Seminoles.
