Bio:

William Miller was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and a yellow complexion. He stood 5’5”. He first enlisted when he was 19.

He completed 6 enlistments, serving from May 14, 1876 to May 7, 1878. He served under Lt. Bullis. He was stationed at Fort Clark, Cp. Supply, and Cp. Painted.

William Miller was appointed Sergeant on September 22, 1875. He was Seminole. He was probably German and Mexican with Indian background, perhaps a captive.

On October 16, 1875, Miller and Bullis, with 2 other Scouts, crept into a camp of Indians in Mexico and stole approximately 30 of their horses.

On January 1876, Miller went into a camp of Comanches and Apaches in Mexico and stayed 5 days to take intelligence back to Bullis.
