Bio:

Adam Payne was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’2”. He was 25 when he first enlisted.

He completed 2 enlistments, serving from January 17, 1893 to August 26, 1894. He served under Lt. Shanks and Lt. Hardin. He was stationed at Fort Clark and Fort Ringold.
