Bio:

Charles Payne was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Texas. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’3”. He was 21 when he first enlisted.

He completed 2 enlistments, serving from April 30, 1894 to February 25, 1901. He served under Lt. Fenton and Lt. Dupray. He was stationed at Ft. Clark and Ft. Ringold.
