Bio:
Daniel Payne was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Mexico. He had black eyes, black hair, and dark complexion. He stood 5’9”. He was 18 when he first enlisted.
He completed 4 enlistments, serving from November 26, 1873 to April 1, 1876. He served under Lt. Bullis, Lt. Dodt, Cpt. Cunningham, and Lt. Markley. He was stationed at Cp. Palafox, Ft. Duncan, Ft. Concho, Cp. Eagle Pass, and Cp. Supply.
