Bio:

Ned Phillips was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Florida. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion.

He completed 3 enlistments, serving from October 1, 1870 to February 29, 1872. He served under Lt. Legett and Maj. Bliss. He was stationed at Ft. Duncan.

Note: It is believed Ned was formerly enslaved or was the descendant of someone who was formerly enslaved by King Phillip, father of Wild Cat.
