Bio:

Asa Ross was a Seminole Negro Indian Scout who was born in Goliad, Texas. He had black eyes, black hair, and a black complexion. He stood 5’7”. He was 25 when he first enlisted.

He completed six enlistments, serving from November 11, 1873 to March 21, 1880. He served under Lt. Parker, Lt. Bullis, and Lt. Rodenborough. He was stationed at Ft. Clark, Cp. Supply, and Cp. Chinati.

Note: Asa Ross had been a trooper in the 10th Cavalry. He might have been a Texas Cherokee because the surname Ross was a common name with the Cherokee.
