Bio:
Spc. Kevin Cardoza, 19, of Mercedes, Texas died May 4, in Maiwand, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when their vehicle was attacked by an enemy improvised explosive device. The soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36thInfantry, 1stBrigade Combat Team, 1stArmored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.
Hometown hero Army Specialist Kevin Cardoza, 19, was killed in action on May 4, 2013 in Maiwand, Afghanistan of injuries sustained when his vehicle was attacked by an enemy improvised explosive device. A 2011 graduate of Edcouch-Elsa High School, Kevin will forever be remembered by the courage he showed to fight for his country and in his belief that freedom was for all. He is survived by his daughters: Delilah Nevaeh Cardoza and Melanie Renee Cardoza; parents: Ramiro Cardoza, Sr. and Maria
