A very active Regiment, it participated in the Battles of Port Royal, Sharpsburg, South Mountain, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Bean's Station, Chickamauga, Knoxville, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania Courthouse, North Anna, Cold Harbour, Siege of Petersburg, Hupp's Hill, Cedar Creek, Averasboro, and Bentonville.
