Bio:

Captain Julian E Atwood, son of Rev. and Mrs. Julian Atwood, 4515 Hall Street, Dalls, Texas, was born December 30, 1919, and is married to Gertrude Womak Atwood of Texarkana, Texas. He attended Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas, and volunteered for service December 30, 1941, assigned to the Army Air Force. Capt Atwood trained at Sheppard Field, Lowry Field, Officers Training, Miami Beach, Florida, receiving his commission January 20, 1943 and promotion to captain July, 1944. Served in the United States from December 30, 1941 to March, 1943 and overseas from March 29, 1943 to April 23, 1945. He participated in the China-Burma-India Theater, province of Assam, India, with the Air Transport Command. Awarded the Distinguished Unit Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star, and was given an Honorable Discharge November 12, 1945.
